Advantages: Cute, small, durable, and it films
Disadvantages: The lack of a memory upgrade can leave you sorting through your songs for hours to cut them down
There has been a problem with the smaller products get, the more likely they are to break. However, this iPod, despite the very thin size, seems to be a lot more durable than their previous products.
The iPod system is easy to use, and this follows the previous models. One thing that can be annoying is that it allows shows the album picture, and they scroll across the screens. If you have pictures for every album this is fine, but if you find for some older albums it doesn't find the picture, this can be very frustrating to see a blank screen. However, TuneUp, and add-on for iTunes can help resolve this problem - but it IS external and you DO have to pay, but it's quicker and finds things easier than iTunes seems too.
The biggest downside is the limit on size, and the fact that 16GB means about 14GB, as with all Apple products. If you like to stream movies this isn't ideal due to the small size, and obvious the small screen. If you don't want a massive selection of songs at all times, and want something small and neat, this is perfect for you.
The video function makes it really fun, it's pretty easy to use and the quality is average. If you're using it to film fun little snippets it's perfect, but if you want some definition you'll need something better.
Considering it's size it works very well, it feels strong, it does hold a reasonable number of songs, it will fit into almost any pocket and it's easy to hold and use.
A few friends have had problems with the 'Hold' button breaking, but so far I have no experienced any technical fault with the iPod, aside from it will crash every now and then and need to be reset, but this only occurs once every 6 months or so, compared to my last iPod (32GB original) which crashed monthly.
Summary: A very good little device if you only want a selection of yours songs with you at all times, its fun
