Advantages: Touch screen, small and compact, can be put in any orientation

Disadvantages: no physical buttons, no video playback, small and uncomfortable

This ne iPod Nano is a mess, I bought it, and thankfully the shop had a 90 day returns policy, I immediately returned it after 2 months and bought an iPod classic. this iPod comes in apples traditional minimalist style packaging. with the earphones and apple stickers neatly tucked away at the bottom. Just like the previous generation iPod it comes in a variety of colours. This is half the height of the previous generation iPods (great an even smaller screen). The largest change, is the loss of the beloved click wheel. In fact, the only buttons are the volume keys, and the button to sleep/wake the iPod. Everything else is controlled by the multi-touch display.

IT IS NOT RUNNING iOS DO NOT CONSIDER IT A SMALL iPOD TOUCH!

I'd say that this iPod fits between the iPod shuffle and the iPod touch. I hate it. The old iPod and all its features are dearly missed, it seems as if apple, in their hype about smaller and thinner, have forgotten the basics about ADDING features to new products, not taking them away. The old iPod nano, represented good price with features packed in, however, this iPod shows otherwise as the price actually rose. The previous generation boasted about having a camera ans how useful this would be, however, for some reason apple has decided to remove the feature which they were so keen on promoting with the previous generation iPod. Forget about video recording, they have even removed video playback, this makes this iPod seem so ancient, these days there are even cheaper alternatives that play video and are more compact and feature packed. Yes, this would have been a great decision if they were upgrading the iPod shuffle however it is the wrong decision for the nano. The old one was better.

Summary: Only buy it if you are desperate because there are other feature packed alternatives at better price
