Apple iPod nano (6G) 8 GB
Advantages: Cheap, Easy To Use, Strong, Good Quality, Doubles As Watch And Radio
Disadvantages: Doesn't Have A Lot Of Features
I bought this iPod used for £60 at CeX as my old iPod had broke. Brand new, they cost £115, so I thought this was a very good deal. I was a wondering whether to buy this one or the bigger iPod Touch, but I think I made the right choice.
- iPod Nano vs iPod Touch -
The main downside to the iPod nano is that you can't download apps. Then again, it would be hard to play them on the small screen. Considering its size, it is very easy to navigate round. It functions like a normal iPod Touch or iPhone except you slide your finger to the right on the screen to go back. The screen quality is also very good and the sound quality with headphones is great.
It doesn't have as much features as an iPod Touch, such as a calculator, the internet, and things like that. However, it is so much cheaper than an iPod Touch. Its main purpose is to play music and pod casts. One of the things you don't sacrifice is memory. Just like the iPod Touch, the iPod Nano comes in 8GB and 16GB models.
Like I said, it doesn't have a lot of features. However, one of the things I love about it is the fact that you can use it as a watch. You can get a strap with a bit that the iPod fits in to for about £15. Then, you click on the preloaded clock app and can choose from 18 different clock faces. These include analogue and digital clocks as well as things like Mickey Mouse and Kermit the Frog clock faces!
It also has FM radio which an iPod Touch doesn't have. The headphones double as an antenna and you can listen to all FM radio stations. This is handy if you don't want to buy or download songs and, of course, you like listening to the radio.
Its battery life is very good and lasts for about 4 days on a full charge when listening to music. It doesn't take too long to charge either. It is very good looking and strong and I haven't found any issue with it.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this iPod to anyone who loves listening to music, pod casts and the radio. However, if you want the internet and apps, the iPod Touch is probably best for you.
Summary: A Great Device To Play Music And Use As A Watch
