Probably the best mp3 player i have ever bought

I originally steered way from Ipods as they always looked quite bulky. but the 3g nano is very small and compact. It looks similar to the original Ipod in shap but aroud a quater of the size. It can be purchased in 4gb 8gb or 16gb, With a small price difference between the choices. All come supplied with a set of headphones, A USB connection Cable and an adapter to attach to an ipod dock and are packed in a compact hard plastic box which could be used to store the Ipod in if needed

Looks & Operation;
There are a selction of colours availiable Including Black, Silver Blue Yellow and pink to match your personality, i own the black version so I'm not sure what this says about my personality :-).only the front of the player is the chosen colour ant the back plate is shiney chrome .. unfortunatly this doesnt stay nice for long and is easily scratched.

The menus are simple to work giving the option to select artists, song names, albums or shuffle the songs (songs play in random), my personal favorite feature in the menu is the cover flow option as i like to look at the album art of the albums i own you can scroll through the album covers to listen to your album just as though you were chossing one from your collection.

It also features a couple games to keep you entertained during lunch times or bus trips, there is a version of the popular PC game solatire and a puzzle game involving bouncing a ball on the right direction. then there is a very good quiz game which involves questions about Movies, General music, your music on the ipod and TV programmes (unfortunatly all seem to be about American shows i have never heard of).

ADVANTAGES
-Small and compact
-Well priced and cheaper than many lesser known competitors, you can pick one up for for around £80.00 since the new generation 4 has been released
-Itunes programme easy to use and upgrades simply downloaded for free.
-nice extra features such as Games, Scrolling album covers.
-MP4 Video support, producing good quality videos
-As we are now on the generation 4 nano the accessories are quite cheap to pick up.

DISADVANTAGES
-screen easily scratched,and with out the use of the screen the ipod is essentially useless. I actually sat on mine which damaged the screen beyond use.
-It scrolling wheel gets damaged or dirty it can make controlling the cursor difficult (recommend buying a protective case)
-Album art feature temprimental and sometimes takes a while to load
-Has crashed on me a couple of times and had to look on the internet on how to reset as instruction provided not vey in depth

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
-only chargable via usb ports (i use my xbox 360 and work pc alot) cable supplied
-I have 1450 songs on my 8b version and still have room left

Summary: Great mp3 player .. my personal fav of the ipod family
