Advantages: great sound, modern, fsahionable, nice to look at, small and slim.
Disadvantages: expensive and hard to put songs on.
My daughter was going mad for an ipod after he mp3 player packed up so I got her one for her 15th birthdaylast October.
It cost me £160.00 which I thought was daylight robbery considering that you can pick up an mp3 player for about £15.00, but I knew it was fashionable and what she wanted so I reluctantly got her one. It came in a tiny box with a clear plastic cover so you could see your ipod straight away and was easy to get out the box.
Its nice and small to it fits in your pocket just nicely so it doesn't make a bulge in your pocket that would look slightly odd.
You can get these little things in Silver, Black, Red, Green, light blue and pink.
The memory is outstanding, my daughter has about 30 songs on there which she says is more than enough and the memory is'n't even half full.
Its 8GB, so you can have up to 1000 songs, 4 hours of video and 3500 pictures, which to me is outstanding, I don't even know that many songs.
You move around the wheel (the circle) to ajust the sound and move up and down the menu or artists which is easy to use and makes it different to other mp3 players.
My daughter can't use the normal ear phones that come with the ipod, they don't seem to stay in her ears so I had bought her some of the in-ear earphones which she uses much better and stay in easier.
You charge the battery on your computer via USB. I think this is a bit negative because if you don't own your own computer, you have to buy and ipod charger which cost about £15.00. You can use your iPod for up to 5 hours of video or up to 24 hours of music on one charge which is really great, especially if you're going to use it on holiday or travelling.
There's a huge range of accessories that you can buy to make the ipod look better and do more things like:
- Ipod docking stations to play ipod music outloud.
- stickers and stick on gems to make you ipod look awesome.
- lanyards to have your ipod around your neck.
- covers and pouches to protect your ipod.
I think that this ipod is great once you start to listen to music on it, but putting the music on it was tough and we struggled. You can't just sync the songs from your music player, you have to use the apple ipod programme and add a file from your files which I found very confusing and it took us hours to do it! I think that Apple could make adjusments to make that easier to make the ipod better .
Overall, Ipods are great, reliable and have brilliant sound quality, they are definately worth the money. My daughters had hers for about 7 months, she doesn't realy look after it and just chucks it in her bag, but it is in brilliant condition and works perfectly, demonstrating excellent quality.
Summary: A great ipod to play your music on.
