Advantages: Easy to use, fantastic sound quality

I purchased this ipod about a year ago and I have to say I am very pleased with it. 8GB is enough for me because I have a relatively small music collection, but even if you can't fit all your music onto it, its great for holidays where you really are only going to use a small amount of the media on it. If you want a little bit more space, its worth looking at the 4th generation nano as there is a 16GB version available.
The battery life is very good, although you can't trust the indicator in the top corner because it will last much longer than you would think while in the red.
The sound quality is excellent, and browsing through your music is made very simple with the scroll wheel. The "cover flow" feature where you browse through your music by the album covers looks fantastic, but I have found it to be more of a novelty than a serious feature that I would use.
The design of the product is excellent, it looks great and is very small so it is very handy to carry with you where ever you go, although I would recommend investing in a cover to protect it. The small size also makes it ideal for use while running or other exercise.

Summary: Excellent if you have a small music collection
