I got the ipod nano 8GB about a year and a half ago, and it is still going strong. I got it simply because of the size, i wanted something that would go into my pocket and i could forget it was there and it certainly delivers! I had some difficulty down loading songs (you have to have itunes, i didnt no this when i bought it) but once i had this it is quick and simple.
This may be small but it is very strong my 7 + 4year olds havent broke it yet. I have also found it to be brilliant for the kids during long car drives, download a couple of their tv programmes and they will be happy for hours. My Ipod came with a docking station and the sound quality is fantastic, it has made my hi-fi redundant. Overall this is a great product for the young and the old and i would recommend it to anyone.!
