Apple iPod nano (3G) 8 GB
Advantages: Good design, memory and overall quality.
Disadvantages: The lead rattles a little when inserted into computer.
I got this ipod about three years ago for my birthday as a present from my mum. I saw it for the first time and thought it was a little small for an ipod but it was my first one so I never really had any experience. I would have to say the best thing about this is the level of quality and sturdiness. I think I must've dropped it about a billion times not to find one single scratch of crack, it works and looks like it's brand new. The colour of my one is pink with a white navigation router in the middle. It is very noticable and holds a very large amount of data.
The first thing you see when you turn it on is the apple logo and the navigation menu where you can either watch videos, listen to music, podcasts or games. My version of the ipod is the third generation 8gb. An 8gb ipod holds around 1500 songs without any other data. The ipod is a product of apple and was released in September 2007 with a software update coming around 5/6 months after release date. I was a bit late buying mine but I knew I wanted it and my mum was prepared to buy it for me. The ipod can only be run with the use of a computer and itunes (also a product of apple). In order to add songs to an ipod you must have a working pc and itunes where you can choose the "sync" option and convert your media from your computer to the ipod. This generation on apple ipod is referred to as the classic. I think so many people see this as the best one as it is the most purchased. I have quite a few episodes of friends on my ipod, this takes up sufficient memory, but it's worth it on long journeys and on the train or just general travelling.
The battery life on the ipod can last a few days if you don't overuse it, I find that the lead is a little annoying to use as when you put it in the computer it is a little wobbly and not sturdy. The ipod comes with the standard apple headphones ( look in another review for full details) and they are very long and are pretty bog standard headphones which are used universally. The ipod itself is very thin and portable which makes journeys easier. You can buy an apple product like this for around £150 but for a larger memory the price is sufficently more. Overall, I think that this is a good product which is well known universally for it's memory, sleek design and overall good use.
Summary: A good buy, definitely recommended.
