Advantages: Compact, Stylish, Sexy, Its Colour Screen... Its Apple!
Disadvantages: Scratches Easily... Ands thats all!
Ever since the release of the original iPod, new technologies and innovations in design have developed… And here we are, talking about one of the most sophisticated, sleek and sexy products of the 21st century; the iPod Nano. Apple Inc is starting to become, if not already, one of the worlds leading manufacturers for mp3 players and computers, and we can clearly see why. The iPod has taken the world by storm, and OH MY GOSH did Apple make a nifty little profit!
The iPod Nano takes its original and catchy name from the new technology called, well, Nano. It means "a lot of things, in a very little space". With this innovation at Apple's fingertips, they just couldn't resist the temptation to show off yet again a product which does not fail to impress in both looks and quality.
So why is it that we instantly fall in love with the iPod, and feel as if we can't live without it? Why is it that the word on the street is the iPod? What attracts us to these dinky little gadgets and force us to buy one? Why is it that as soon as a new iPod is released, it's a craze to buy it, and shops fall in shortage within days?
Well, maybe its the Nano's smooth, black glass top combined with its shiny metal shell - the perfect combination for a product to not only catch an eye, but make a headline…
…Or maybe its starts from as early on as hearing its name… The Nano… Just these two little words unleash the dragon of you imagination, and images begin to flood your head… The temptation of buying one and testing it out… The need to hold it in your hand… The envy to show it off…
Well, knowing me, the dragon got the best of me, and I made a sin, now realising it was for the better. It not only haunted my mind all day long, but my dreams too. The simple remedy - blow your savings - so that's exactly what I did!
…And I hear you ask me "was it worth it?". Well lets just put it this way - it was worth every single penny my card transferred from my bank to Apple's private 'little' stash!
As tempting the iShop was to purchase some other things too, my bank would not have let me, so I just put on a brave face as I walked out, and even pulled a smile, knowing that my dinky little fortune was in the bag. The train journey home however was one that I would not want to relive. My temptation to rip it open was one that eventually broke into a sweat. Despite, I persuaded myself to wait till I get home…
I sat on the couch and opened it up… Holding it in my hand suddenly relaxed my heart, and my sweat pores sealed…
There was no time to read instructions and manuals… forget all that! I zoomed of to my computer, installed iTunes and hooked it up. The next 3 to 4 hours of my time were occupied of transferring my precious song collection to the second most valuable thing I owned.
The next few months took its toll on the iPod. All the clicking, pausing, browsing, playing, stopping, browsing, clicking, playing had exhausted the poor little thing, so I put it down, and logged onto ciao to write down my thoughts…
The Nano is a piece of kit that fits in style, quality, durability and performance all in one. The legendary click-wheel really does live up to its name, and makes handling and using the iPod a piece of cake. Its colour screen adds to the high end quality finish of the product. Its integrated calendar along with its ability to store contacts, pictures and mp3's means that the only thing missing is a SIM card slot and a dial!
Features? Well where do I begin?!? Lets just say they vary from games to lyric displays!
And its ease of use? Nothing that small you will ever handle will have such a simple and yet stylish system of navigation! The click-wheel really does make all the difference!
Well what about the design? My favourite question! Its 'Nano' dimensions make the iPod fit perfectly in the palm of your hand, and all the buttons are accessible with ease. The glass top adds a professional and unique feature to the iPod and bringing it out in public never fails to get you the ladies attention!
I must admit, scratches on the black model show a fair amount, but that would never happen if you treasure it as if your precious! There are so many accessories for it now which allows it to be protected and customized very well - If you want a bachelor boy look, to if you want the fairly princess look - it can all be done!
Truly this is an 8th wonder of the world, and lets give Apple a round of applause! They have yet again unveiled a product which will make history, and which we have fallen in love with so deeply, that we cannot let it go. The little Apple symbol on the back stands for the seal of quality, and that alone sells the product! Apple and iPod are in the spotlight of fame, and there they will remain for a VERY LONG TIME!
Summary: Fantastic Product! Recommend it without a doubt; its a product of the century!

- 13/06/06 I have always thought that the ipods are a bit over priced and you definately pay for the name. |

- 02/06/06 The style of this piece is excellent - it kept me gripped throughout. Only problem was I didn't learn much about the useability, interface or other practical issues. You clearly love it and I suspect that it's easy to use, but I can't make a buying decision on a suspicion! |
