Advantages: Great iPod

Disadvantages: None!

The iPod nano 4gb was released on the 7th September 2005 as a First generation iPod nano and in my opinion is great iPod with just the right amount of disc space and a very slick design. Which is really great to just slip into your pocket whilst you walk around or even jog.

iPod Setup:

The iPod nano is very simple to set up and probably the hardest part is getting the ipod out the box but im sure that won't put you off a great iPod. All it requires is a USB cable which comes with the ipod and Itunes which also comes in the box with the iPod. So first of all you need to install itunes onto your computer which takes up about 47mb of your hard disc. This does not take long to install onto your computer. When this is completed you need to connect your iPod to your computer viar a USB cable. When this is done your Itunes should recognize your iPod and ask for a name for your iPod and some other simple procedures. When this is done your are ready to transfer music onto your iPod.

Syncing music to your iPod on Itunes:

Syncing music to your ipod could not be any easier, it is very simple, all you have to do is add some music to your Itunes library by either simperly placing a cd of your choice in your computer and then press burn cd to add the songs to your library. There is other methods of adding music to your iPod also including downloading songs from the Itunes store which is simple you need to do is create a Itunes store account, you will need a credit card for downloading songs from Itunes. When your account is set up all you have to do is browse the thousands of songs on the Itunes store. Once you have found a song or an album you press the buy song icon and then you will be asked for your password. When this is done the download should not take longer than a minute for each song, which is very quick. There is also one other method of getting songs on your library which is to find music which is all ready on your computer and simply selecting the file by pressing ctrl+o on your keyboard. Whe you have selected all the music you want your iPod go into file from the toolbar and select sync"youripod" then the ipod should start to sync the songs to your iPod.

Other syncing features:

You can also sync other things onto your iPod including photos and contacts from your windows address book. These are both very easy to complete by just selecting the iPod on the left handside and going into photos and selecting the folder with the photos you want in it. Also adding contacts to your iPod is easy by just going into your iPod and selecting Contacts from the tab and then selecting the contacts you want your iPod. You can even choose your songs from certain playlists by creating a playlist by going into file and new playlist. Then you have the option to just sync the music from the playlists you want. This is a great feature. Don't forget to sync the changes you have made to your iPod.

Ipod Nano:

The iPod nano is a great design and also very small, it is very light and well so easy to carry around but not small enough to loose unlike the iPod mini which is very small. The iPod has 5 buttons including the hold switch, menu, forward, backwards and play/pause. The iPod also has a slot at the bottom for inserting a USB cable into the device and last of all the slot for inserting a set of headphones into it. The iPod does take quite a long time to charge but lasts for 10 hours in my opinion but im not 100% sure. You go up and down on the iPod by rotating the circle in the middle of the iPod.

iPod nano features:

When you have turned your ipod on by holding down the play button but make the sure the hold button isn't on. When you have turned on your iPod there is 5 diffrent icons. Music, Photos, Extra, settings and shuffle songs. Under music is all of your playlists, artists, Albums, Songs, Genres, Composers which narrows down your search for your songs. Under the photos icon you can look at all your photos you have put on your iPod, Extras where you can play a choice of 3 games, stopwatch, clock and a whole bunch of other things. Settings where you can change the settings of the date and time and other similar things. Last of all shuffle songs where it shuffles all your songs from iPod and you get them in a random order to listen too. To turn the iPod off hold down the play/pause button. Great iPod, i advise.

Summary: I advise to any music lovers!
