Advantages: Great sound quality
Disadvantages: Screen is quite delicate so some kind of case is a must
I can't recommend the iPod Nano enough, having had mine for several years without any problems.
It's tiny enough to fit into your pocket, but the screen and buttons are very clear and easy to use despite the small size. One complaint I do have is that the screen scratches very easily, but as the iPod comes packaged with a basic and functional case this needn't be a problem. There are also a wide variety of other cases available should you prefer.
The 4 GB storage isn't likely to fit your whole iTunes catalogue on, but as it's so easy to alter the songs you have saved on the iPod it's very straightforward and not at all time-consuming to change the music you've got saved whenever you like so that isn't a problem. I fit just under 1000 songs onto my iPod, so the storage is really more than enough for everyday use or even for weekends away etc.
I use the headphones supplied with the iPod and find the sound quality is excellent both for music and podcasts or spoken word tracks.
As there have been many newer iPods released since this one was created it's possible to find very good deals on this on ebay or similar sites - while it might not have all the fancy features of newer models, if you're looking for a good reliable MP3 player with all the features Apple is famous for then you really can't go wrong with this model.
Overall, highly recommended.
Summary: Highly recommended - good, reliable MP3 player and now often available at very reasonable price

- 29/05/09 I'm surprised you like the headphones. I always think Apple headphones are a bit rubbish, to be honest. |
