Advantages: Completely shockproof, comfortable in hand, fashionable to wear

Disadvantages: No LCD, iTunes dependent, hard to navigate through songs

The first thing you will notice after you have parted with your £89, or $130, is that you don't get a lot in the box. Supplied with the iPod shuffle (1GB) is a lanyard and iPod earbuds. On actual performance, I thought that the iPod shuffle was pretty good, as it had quite fast transfer times, and the sound quality was as good or better than its competitors. The iPod shuffle is ideal for carrying around your favourite tunes. However, if you enjoy listening to certain tracks, the iPod shuffle is not for you, as navigating through the songs is very hard, as the only shortcut available is to go right to the beginning of your music collection. The battery life is adaquate for moderate useage, but I would recommend purchasing a charger, as depending on a computer can become tiresome.

Overall, I was very impressed with the iPod shuffle, as it fulfills its major criteria: to randomise your music.
