This is my first and only iPod, and I guess I still feel that despite the name I don't really own an iPod - that name is really for the bigger brothers only isn't it?!

I have been extremely happy with the shuffle though. Sound quality is great, if a little quiet, with the bundled headphones. The 1GB is of course a little limiting, but when there's no menu system then you probably couldn't handle too many songs conveniently anyway. I find that having the songs sorted by artist makes it fairly easy to navigate through and find what you're interested in.

The clip is really helpful - it's typical of Apple to come up with something so simple and useful - and of course the very small size means it's really convenient, and can go anywhere with you. That, and the solid state drive means it's perfect for the gym.

Summary: Really simple and convenient. Perfect for the gym.
