I am a proud owner of the new iPod Touch 8GB (which I have previously reviewed) but I am always getting moaned at about my choice of songs when my wife and I have it playing in the car. So, to beat this, I bought her one of these little Shuffles. It is perfect for her size wise as she can fit it in her handbag without making it too bulky or heavy, or as it is so light, she can simply attach it to her jacket with the built in clip.

It comes in a number of colours, including green, blue and pink, but I went for the classic silver finish, which looks a little like brushed aluminium. It has an on/off switch which when in the off position, shows up a small green flash of paint/marking. This can be a little confusing as surely green means on? This maybe something Apple need to re-address in future models.

The dock is completely different to other iPod models. Due to the minute size of the Shuffle, there is not enough room for the standard bar connector but instead uses what looks like a 3.5mm headphone jack connector built into a special Suffle dock. This design could also lead to being broken as there is no protection to the connector which protrudes from the dock.

Overall, she is very happy. She has her favourite 240ish songs on it (it's only 1GB) and has it set to oShuffle, rather than playing a predetermined list which can be set up in iTunes.

Summary: Great entry level iPod fit for most casual listeners
