A great, simple iPod for those who aren't feature freaks (Apple iPod shuffle (2G) 1 GB)

Advantages: Reliable, good sound, light, sleek

You can't go too wrong with the iPod shuffle if you just want a simple iPod and don't necessarily need to have all of your songs on it at the same time. In two years I've never had a problem with it crashing or any other technical problems that I've had with other iPods. You don't have to have the shuffle setting on, so there is an option to listen to all your tracks in the order you put them on the iPod and the sound quality is very good. The clip is handy for attaching to clothing as it's so small you might lose it in a pocket, it's so small! That's another upside though, you really can take it anywhere as it is tiny and weighs virtually nothing.

The obvious down side is the lack of a display so you can't see what's currently playing and you're not able to easily jump to a specific track you want to hear. The 1GB memory limit means only a fraction of the average person's music library will fit on it, although I've got round this by rotating the tracks on it when I get bored. It is probably more expensive than most MP3 players of similar features and memory size on the market, but has got the Apple quality and sleek look to balance things out.

Summary: Overall a good quality product that I would trust to last for a long time.
