Good value, obvious limitations (Apple iPod shuffle (2G) 1 GB)
Member Name: Jamibu
Advantages: Price, size, weight, battery life, sound Disadvantages: Lack of screen, minimal storage Wouldn't be my first choice of MP3 player, as I'm big on huuuuge storage and the ability to choose what plays. Given as a gift though, these little guys are fantastic value. It's unbelievably light, and despite it's size has a very very generous battery life, several days, sometimes weeks of casual usage is easy. Having to rely on a sequence of flashes from the LED is the only way to know what, if anything, it is currently doing, but there's quite a range of messsages conveyed in this way which, with a little practice, is easy enough to understand. Not totally convinced by its shuffle mode, it seems to have stuck with certain artists more than others in my playlist, and also repeated some songs much more often than others, so how truly random it is I'm not sure. Headphone and sound quality however is beyond reproach, and it resets to mid-range volume each switch on to prevent hearing damage by accidentally leaving the volume turned up from last time. Summary: Overall, great gift, not my first choice
