Advantages: Small in size and clips on to your clothes or bag

Disadvantages: No display shown

For those of you who are tired of carrying around heavy, oversized MP3 players, the iPod shuffle is perfect for you. With 1GB of capacity, the shuffle can save around 240 of your favourite tracks. What I found particularly great about the iPod shuffle is that you will hardly notice you have it on you, thanks to a secure clip which makes it a suitable product to use while jogging or even on the way to work, school or college. This rules out having to put it in your pocket or bag which sometimes can be uncomfortable.

In comparison to other MP3 players, you might think that 200 plus songs is not enough. This is sometimes true, but I would suggest removing the songs you find you are not listening to anymore and make room for new ones. This means that you wont end up with a load of tracks you never listen to and you will find yourself having to skip tracks less and less.

The size of the ipod shuffle is not the only good thing about it. It's simplicity and how easy it is to use are big advantages. Equipped with just an on-off and shuffle switch, the ipod shuffle is perfect for people who are not great with gadgets or who just don't have the time to flick through thousands of tracks, which is sometimes the case with other MP3 players.

For what it does, the iPod shuffle is great value. Available for under 50 pounds, the iPod shuffle is worth every penny and even comes in a variety of colours, including green, blue and my favourite, silver. The advantages of this product certainly outweigh the disadvantages. However, the only thing I would really call a disadvantage is that there is no display, which can be annoying if you've forgotten the name of the track or want to know what the next track is. In saying this, the iPod shuffle's size, simplicity and general 'niftyness' certainly make up for it.

Summary: A very 'nifty' and practical product available for less than 50 pounds
