Apple iPod shuffle (2G) 1 GB
Advantages: Great for on the go music
Disadvantages: Cant pick songs
So then, Apple's grip on basically the entire world seems to be growing and growing, and there is a perfectly good reason for that - they make fantastic products, that no one realised they needed or wanted, until they are released and marketed. The shuffle is no exception, and has been developed and altered on a number of occasions. This 1GB is one of the latest offerings, and i bought it for my skiing holiday, as i wanted something nice and durable for when i fell over, but something that provided the style to use on a day to day basis! It ticked all the boxes.
Obviously, the best aspect of this product is the fact that it is actually tiny. This is really convenient when playing sport or when you do not have much room, as when skiing. It means that you can simply pop it into your pocket and forget it even exists. If you bought some wireless headphones, you would probably lose it on a day to day basis!
1.07 inches tall
1.62 inches wide
0.41 inches deep
One of the best things about the new version is that it has a clip, so you don't even need pockets, which is really handy if you are on a run or something similar, such as working out in the gym, as sports clothing rarely has pockets, so you can just clip it on to you and it stays there. It has a few buttons on, basically to turn it on and off, and to skip the current song. That is the beauty of the shuffle, where Apple products are usually all singing and dancing, it is simple, and it works because of it.
This will store you about 200 songs, or there abouts, so you can easily have enough on there to have a full days activity without having to listen to the same song more than once, which i appreciate can be quite irritating.
The product comes with some Apple earphones and also the charging unit, which is obviously important, as after a full day of using it you will definitely need to charge it up again, as it isn't the greatest when holding its charge! It takes about 4 hours to charge up fully, and that, in my experience, gives you about 8 hours of play time, though Apple claim it is more than that.
This is a really good product, for those on the move or wanting something to run with. I would not recommend it as a primary music player though, and i think that the 'proper' ipods, or an iphone, is better at fulfilling this role.
