Advantages: Small
Disadvantages: Not so many songs
When I started going to the gym, i wanted something a little less bulky than my creative zen to take with me. Something light, and easy to use that i wouldn't have to search through to find a track i liked. I went to America and bought a shuffle for a friend as a present, boy did he love it.
He loved it so much it convinced me that i needed one, and that's how i became the owner of a pretty little lime green mp3 player. The shuffle (1st generation) came in 5 different colours, and the newer generation has been released in 5 new colours so there are a few to choose from if you want to match it to your purse.
about 1inch square, with a stupendously handy clip to attatch to your belt, the hem of your shirt, the strap of your bag, this mp3 player is perfect for dashing out and about. Perhaps not so great for long journeys, 480 songs won't last on a plane ride around the world but who does that very often?
The shuffle i have is the 2gb variety - which retailed at £50 but is now slightly cheaper at £45. It comes with a usb dock and a set of headphones, and is obviously designed to intergrate with itunes. Definitely a winner in my book, it's simple to use, has great battery life because there is no display (which isn't really an issue with such a small amount of songs, i always know what's on there) and fits into the palm of my hand. perfect.
