Advantages: Small, stylish with great sound quality and huge music storage capacity
Disadvantages: None
The Apple I-Pod Shuffle is one of the greatest inventions ever. For the last twenty years, I've been using whatever the current technology was to enable me to listen to music as I walked, was at the gym, mowed the grass or traveled the length and breadth of the country.
Yonks ago, I had to rely on the classic tape cassette player which was fairly large and cumbersome to lug around and it came with distinctly untrendy headphones.
Plus you needed to carry a separate bag with an armful of tapes with you, otherwise you were stuck with the one album.
If there were tunes that you weren't so keen on, it meant a guess-timate on how far forward to roll the tape and often the old tapes got mangled and worn.
Then, more recently it was the portable CD player, better sound quality and you could skip really easily to the tunes you wanted to hear.................. better,
but the world was just waiting for the arrival of Apple I-Pod Shuffle.
The size of a small match box, this baby is super stylish and is able to hold 500 tunes, that could be the equivalent of around 40 - 50 albums, its amazing !
Plus, it has a little docking station and a 12 hour battery life, so there's no need to keep replacing the batteries like you did with the cassettes and the CD Players - simple place in the docking station and plus into your PC to bolster its power again.
The style of this I-pod is really handy as it has a large clip on the rear so that you simply clip it onto your t shirt and it stays put whilst you jog away until your heart's content!
Skipping backwards and forwards is so easy now, and you hit a button to shuffle your tunes so you don't get used to the same play list being repeated over and over again.
I got mine directly from the online Apple store when they first came out - it was a bright green colour, with in ear headphones and it had my name inscribed on the back, just in case I left it on the rower at the gym.
Back then, they were around the £50 mark, but they have dropped quite a bit now and I've seen them for around £30 from most major retailers.
Apple regularly introduces new colours to the market, the latest ones being red, pink and silver plus the oldies, green and blue.
The Apple I-Pod Shuffle is a great invention, small, discreet and stylish with great sound quality, battery life and ability to clip onto wherever you like.
Summary: Great I-pod for tunes on the go !
