Advantages: compact, lightweight, cute as a button, ease of use
Disadvantages: n/a
I gave up my ipod classic when I bought my iphone, it combined everything in one device, which I thought was genius. But I found that if all I wanted to do was listen to music, for example at work or walking too work, I got distracted by all the other features on the phone.
I started looking at shuffles, I'd never really liked the idea of not having a screen and so not knowing what I was listening too, but they were adorable.
My lovely boyfriend treated me to a gorgeous green shuffle recently and I am in love with it.
The first thing I love is its size, its tiny but doesn't feel delicate, I'm not constantly scared I'll break it. Its about half an inch thick including the built in clip.
It has the familiar ipod style circular controls and a hold function as well, you just need to press the buttons in the right configuration. The sound is pretty good too.
I'm majorly impressed with the battery life as well. Because it has no screen to power, the battery life is immense. I've had mine about a month, and listened to it a couple of times a week, and I've so far only had to charge it once.
Another thing I love is the convienience, no more do I need to find a pocket high enough up my body, instead the shuffle just clips on anywhere and doesn't feel like its going anywhere.
Sometimes its frustrating if you can't find a song you fancy, but generally I'm quite enjoying just not knowing what I'm going to hear next, and I find I skip through my music much less than I do on the iphone.
Summary: A fab little musical companion
