Advantages: Tiny, strong clip
Disadvantages: Cant scroll through music menu
I was already an owner of an iPod Nano 4gb when I purchased this shuffle, however I purchased it for different uses.
Being an active gym and fitness member I was looking for a smaller version mp3 player which would be easy to use and attach for sports whether outside or in the gym. The iPod Nano can have a strap thats purchased but I still felt that it would be more limiting.
I went and got a shuffle and my first reaction was the size of it. It is infact a lot smaller than I had thought at first. It is very basic to use with simply a main play/pause button with fast forward, rewind, and up and down for the volume. With such few buttoms its hard to go wrong with it.
Also, on the back is a very secure and big clip. I was worried at first that it might not be that tight, but after using it many times its slipped onto my clothes, such as collar and sleeve without ever falling off.
For the size of the equipment itself, it has plenty of room for enough songs to keep me occupied when working out. It has a feature to have songs played in order or to be shuffled. Ive kept mine on shuffle since day one, and with only a few hundred songs on mine (more can fit on) I've never been bored or predicted what would play next.
This is a disadvantage however to anyone who likes to pick what they listen to as you cannot scroll through a menu but simply click until you have what you want.
It is also very good for any music fans who dont want to be carrying anything bulking around in there pocket, as it can simply clip onto the side of a jacket or scarf. Along with a small pair of in ear headphones, the whole thing is very small and compact so is never a problem if needed to be packed in a bag.
Summary: Perfect for any sport enthrusiasts or people on the move

- 14/05/09 Yeah thats why I also have the nano. If I'm doing long travelling or want to choose what Im actually listening to depending on my mood, I'll always go for the nano just because it has more choice and options, but if your not fussy about what your listening to, then the shuffle is a great buy! And like I was saying, great for gym members. |

- 14/05/09 I'm too indecisive for these - I want the fully library of my music with me at all times! :) |
