Advantages: Small, stylish and practical
Disadvantages: No screen, small cpacity
What can you say that hasn't been said already? First, the general bits and bobs. The unit is made from stylish aluminium, which protects against scratches and general wear and tear. Normal ipod style controls and power and shuffle on/off controls. The back of the unit is a convinient belt/ clothing clip to hold the unit in place whereever you fancy putting it.
Right, that's out of the way. I have to confess, I don't own any other ipod, so I can't say if the sound quality is better on the larger versions (i'd imagine it is) and I am envious of the other larger versions that hold all your music collection and have useful screens.
But you know what? I don't mind. Why pay and extra £100 for a screen and larger capacity? I ues my shuffle for music while I'm out on my bike and jogging, and for that it's perfect. If I want a decent selection of running tracks, I just copy over a playlist, otherwise, I let itunes select soem for me and shuffle my way through them, which throws up a few surprises in the "what tracks are good to run to" stakes. The belt clip attached the unit to my shorts/ t-shirt or pocket and I'm set. I can't see why you would want or need a larger ipod if you're an active type of person - this does everythign you need. And it's so small an light you'll forget you've even got it on.
Granted, on long journeys I'd love all my tracks and a screen to sget to what I really want, but I spend most of my time listening to music on the go, in which case, I really don't think I'd change this little beauty in for a larger one.
If you need music on the go - you can't go
Summary: Pound for pound, the best MP3 player on the market

- 24/06/09 I don't think you'd necessarily find other iPods have better sound quality as such - it's so dependent on the headphones really. |
