There is no question that the ipod shuffle is not the best value for money in the "very small mp3 player" category. There are plenty of sony brands and other more obscure makes which offer higher capacities, longer battery lives, lower prices, USB ports for convenience and other features such as inbuilt radio. Howevr the reason you and millions of others will ponder, and eventually deecide to buy this is that it is an ipod. Its cool, everyone has an ipod. You never hear someone talk about putting music on their mp3 player. its always putting music on their ipod. This particular model is very useful for jogging or going to the gym, battery seems to last longer than i expected, only have to charge it weekly. ive had mine for about 6 months and not experienced any difficulties. it holds around 400 songs, and whilst you may think not being able to select your song is anoying, you can actually select if you upload songs in alphabetical order, you can turn shuffle mode off, listen to the song thats being played and then skip your way there. A bit of a hastle, but not too much of a problem. Sound quality deends on the headphones. with the apple ones supplied, it is fine.
