Advantages: lightweight, clip for exercising

Disadvantages: no display, occassionally resets itself and have to copy files over again

My very first iPod was an iPod Shuffle which is a great iPod to use for things like going to the gym, running, out walking etc. Basically this iPod is ideal for the things where you just want to put music on as a background noise and get on with your task in hand.

The problem with the Shuffle is that you have no way of knowing what song you're playing until it's started and you recognise the song which makes it annoying if you've put an album on and you're searching for a specific song as you have to skip the song, listen to some of the next song till you realise its not what you want and repeat the process time and time again until you find that one song you want.

For that reason I think the iPod Shuffle is great for things like going running where you can just press play, clip it onto your tracksuit waist and start running as you wont really care what song is on as it's just background noise.

The clip on the back of the Shuffle is quite handy as the Shuffle itself is lightweight so it just clips on and you dont have to worry about it after that.

The sound quality isn't amazing but it's ok and the Shuffle itself can store about 100 songs on it although if you select the option in iTunes to convert to AAC then you can store twice as many songs on your iPod but be prepared for it to take a long time to copy the files over as it has to convert each and every song from an MP3 to AAC for the Shuffle.

Summary: Good for people on the go with limited music, bad for everyday use.
