Apple iPod shuffle (2G) 2 GB
Advantages: Looks great and sounds good too
Although I have both an iPhone and MacBook Pro I often want something small to carry around with me to play my music on, especially if I am at the gym and do not want to get my phone damaged when I am jumping up and down. I therefore recently bought this iPod shuffle.
The iPod has a number of features including:
1.14 by 1.24 by .34 inches (29 by 31.6 by 8.7 mm) (including clip)
0.44 ounces (12.5 grams)
Up to 15 hours of music playback
On-device control pad (manages play, pause, fast forward, rewind, volume)
Charging via USB to computer system
Fast-charge time of around 2 hours (charges up to 80% of battery capacity)
Full-charge time of around 3 hours
VoiceOver supports 29 languages
I was first attracted to the iPod shuffle due to the large range of colours it comes in. Mine is a lovely metallic blue colour which looks great when clipped to my waistband, and it also comes in pink, silver and green. It looks very stylish and is made from a sleek and shiny aluminum. It is really tiny and very light and small so is easy to transport and is also quite robust so I do not worry about throwing it into a bag. It also comes with a pair of Apple earphones
The iPod has up to 15 hours battery life and I generally find that I only have to charge it occasionally although mostly I am only using it for short periods of time. My version has 2GB of storage which is enough for hundreds of songs and I have managed to easily transfer all of the songs I want from my iTunes account via the USB lead and still have not used up all of the capacity.
The sound quality of the iPod is excellent and I find that the both the treble and bass are clear and I can easily adjust the volume to the level that I require. I also enjoy the shuffle feature which means that your songs are played in a random order and leads to some interesting music being played that you might have forgotten you had!
One of the features I like most about the iPod is the ability to create different playlists. This is especially handy when I am at the gym when I want music that is going to be upbeat and motivate me. You can also put podcasts and audiobooks on the iPod to listen to.
The iPod is controlled by a large central button which is easy to use so you can choose whether to play or pause your music, or skip backwards and forwards. There is also a VoiceOver button you can press which tells you the title and artist of the music you are listening to.
The iPod only normally costs about £40 and is currently on sale at Amazon for £35 which is a real bargain. I definitely think that it is value for money for what you get as it looks great and has lots of features and is easy to use on the go.
Summary: Can't beat it for the price
