Apple iPod shuffle (4G) 2 GB
Advantages: Tiny and light, great design, cheap.
I bought this iPod shuffle quite recently - perhaps a year or two ago, and although it is the simplest of the iPods, with the least range of features, it is probably the one I use the most - much more than my Nano, for example, simply because it is so practical and useful. Also, because it's quite cheap (£30), I don't worry about damaging or breaking it, and this means I'm quite happy to use it everywhere.
Like the other iPods, it comes with headphones and a USB cable so you can connect it to your computer. It also comes with iTunes, which lets you manage your music collection, which is especially important for this iPod, as you can't fit that much music on there - only 1GB, so you will often want to change the music. This is very easy to do, and you can also use iTunes to buy new music as well through the iTunes store, which also has lots of free podcasts for you to download.
-ooo- The Product -ooo-
This is the smallest iPod ever, and I think it's a brilliant design. Apart from the on/off switch and the shuffle button, all the controls are on the front - this is a very simple product, you can just skip between songs, change the volume and play/pause. Because there are so few features, the product is so tiny and light, and can be clipped on a belt or shorts when running. I particularly like running with it, as there's so little that can be damaged.
The buttons are very easy to use, and aren't stiff or loose. All in all, the product feels very strong and solid.
-ooo- Would I Recommend? -ooo-
I think this is a fantastic product. It's incredible that such a good product can be so small - I think the design is great, both in terms of look and practicality, and the quality is good. The earphones that come with the iPod Shuffle are simple, but I think they're okay for just running or listening to on the train etc. You could buy more expensive ones, but I've been happy with these.
Another great thing about the Shuffle is the battery life. You can listen for what seems like days - I often don't have to charge for weeks, and that's using it quite a lot. This is an incredible battery life, I think, and makes it really convenient for using, because you don't have it run out on you when you can't recharge.
When the product is so cheap, I would recommend this to everyone who likes music. It's something you could take on holiday without worrying about it being lost or stolen. Especially for people who like to listen to music when they exercise, I think this is a brilliant product.
Summary: Great music on the go.
