I am a big music lover, as corny as it sounds, I believe that music does bring joy to alot of peoples lives. I mean, throw on a fast rihanna number or an upbeat michael jackson track and instantly you feel better. In every culture throughout the globe, people use music and want music in their lives. There are so many variations and periods from classic to jazz, pop, rock and soul. Its great, it really is. So much so that when I am out and about I love to throw in the earphones and get lost in a world of music to pass the time away while I travel from A to B. Doesn't everyone these days..........?
Originally my friend introduced me to this, back when my final mp3 player lived its last day, about 3 years ago. To be honest, as much as I love technology, I was a bit behind when it came to the new thing. But when she told me I could pick one up for under Euro100, I was bought. There and then! By price, and price only. I picked mine up in my nearest Soundstore where the kind store assistant talked me through downloading itunes to convert my music etc. (I felt like an elderly person buying my first mobile phone...."And what does this gadget do"....) Obviously I bought the pink version but I had a choice of blue and silver also. (Fancy eh)
Getting it up and running was less difficult then I had thought. Simply download itunes onto your computer and sync the ipod through the usb connection. Easy huh, guess everyone knows how to do that in their sleep these days :/!! The usb connection works as a charger also which was a major advantgae for me as my last mp3 ran on batteries which died often. I set about uploading my cds onto itunes which took me a couple of hours but by then my ipod was fully charged and ready to rock. All I had to do now was convert......! Press sync and away it goes, easy as pie. I was beginning to like this more and more.
The first disadvantage I noticed was the fact that there is no screen so therefore no way of choosing which songs you wanted to play. But I guess that is the point of the shuffle hmmm. You have the option when turning it on, to leave it on shuffle, where the ipod chooses the next song, or put it on so that it plays each in order as you have it on your itunes. The only other options button-wise, are volume (increase and decrease) and fast forward & rewind as well as the play/pause button. Simple and Efficient. To this day though, the lack of choosing the songs does annoy me a little.
I use my ipod every single day without fail, going to and from work. It lasts me round about 6 days before the battery goes low (which the voice on your ipod informs you of) and needs to be re charged. At first I thought 2gb was tiny and I suppose in comparison to some, it is but I have over 200 songs on mine at present and itunes tells me I have space for alot more!!
I find this handy to use in the gym as there is a clip on the back which can attach to your jacket or pants. Its quite cool!!!
A good buy for the price (£89.99 when I bought it, significantly less so no). I would recommend it to anyone who needs something similar as it does the job. The volume isnt the best but if you buy earphones with their own volume adjustment then it will be perfect. A good pressie for anyone too as it is high tech but still pocket sensitive. <3
Summary: Good buy for yourself or for any pressie
