Apple iPod shuffle (4G) 2 GB
Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: No screen
This is not the biggest devise when it comes to storage, but seeing it is only for music 2GB is plenty. The first thing I must mention about this little gadget is in fact how little it actually is. It's supper cute, tiny, I could fit a few of them in the palm of my hand. They are very simple to use with a simplistic design to ensure track scrolling can be done without the need to look down at the buttons.
Most people will listen to music as they workout and this I find is the perfect little tool for that. There is a belt clip on the back side of the shuffle. This can be clipped anywhere, I have clipped it on to my bag strap in the past and even my bikini bottom when on Holiday. On the front are the simple controls they consist of the play button this also doubles as a pause button it also works as a way of flicking or skipping through track listings. This works by pressing on the edge of the button in the direction you want to go, backwards or forwards.
There is a VoiceOver button this is an electronic robot like voice that tells you what's playing and if you keep your finger on it, it will tell you what play list is playing. I never use this as I find it annoying because he's telling me stuff I already know. The only time I will use him is when I want to know how much battery power there is remaining. to do this I just simply double click the button. This is necessary because unlike the iPhone, iPod, iPod touch and iPad there is no screen here so that's the only way of knowing how long is left. There is also different functions button when I can tell it to play every song or shuffle.
This is a very simple design there is no camera, no screen, no apps, this is a basic mp3 player in a very compact size and super cute design. There is also no speakers on this so I just use the little white earphones that came with it, they work perfectly and simply slot into the headphone jack at the top. The sound is crystal clear, sharp as a pin and full of base. There is a little USB lead that comes with the shuffle and this goes into the headphone jack and then into my laptop. If you have iTunes then just sync your music to it like you would to any of your apple devices. The same USB cable is used for charging the shuffle just plug it in to any USB devise and it will begin to charge, I plug it in to my TV while I'm watching it rather than have to take out my laptop.
The battery lasts ages, each charge can last days on end. This of course depends on how much you use it but I tend to use it a few times a week at the gym and I have only to charge it every now and then. That's one of the best things about this, my iPad needs charging every day I wish it could last for days just like this.
Summary: Fantastic little gadget
