Advantages: Fantastic Touch Screen, PC/MAC-like features, Free WebApps available

Disadvantages: None really, but it is bigger than most MP3 players, and the Hard drive is a little small

This is my first iPod, after having every other gadget and always having a smart phone (with MP3) i never saw it as neccassary.
But after getting this brilliant device I dont know how I managed!

Lets start by it biggest difference: The touch screen, now this is incredible, it is by far the best touch screen I have ever used, much better than the viewty for instance.
It is also very clear even in bright sunlight.
One piece of advice though, get a screen protector, it is very liable to scratches, as is the rear chrome section, mine is scratched t pieces and I am a very careful owner!

16Gb may not be enough for all users, I'd say you should get about 3000 songs on it at high quality, which is quite alot really, but if you want movies and videos etc then it might get a bit tight.

YouTube via WiFi, is superb. as good as on the full internet, however it doesn't allow you to view comments.

The latest update includes:

google maps, which is as good as on the net, it even has the satellite image mode.

mail, which is fab with my orange account, (remember to set your stmp mailbox to smtp.orangehome.co.uk, regardless of what it is on your PC, i dont know why but it only works on orange if you do!)

Stocks, looks great, with graphs for the change over the past day, week, year etc.

Notes, very useful if you cant find a pen, but you cant doodle, there is only the option to use the keyboard.

weather, very limited, it only shows temp and basic weather (rain/sun etc.) got to accuweather.com on you ipod, for a brill webapp.

Talking of webapps, if you go to www.apple.com/webapps/ on your ipod safari browser, you can load some fantastic free applications. e.g. BBC iPlayer for you iPod!!!

all this and I havent even mentioned MUSIC! thats how good this device is as a personal computer!

The music mode is obviously top notch, not alot that can be said about this really, it is as good as the quality of the MP3 files.

TIP: to access a mini music player menu, double click the menu button.

The itunes mode works great, and can be easily merged with your standard itunes account, and it will even download your ipod purchased music when you connect it to your PC.

Summary: Absolutely brilliant portable device, It truly deserves all the accolades!
