Well, this is the fourth ipod I have owned and also the last, being sent off for repair after only a month of use, which considering the price that you pay and how long Apple have been making ipods for has put me off buying another one as all my ipods have played up along the line and with the same faults- (not turning on, the screen freezing, songs getting stuck). That said it is a good looking piece of kit with loads of features. I loved the fact that you did not have to have the earphones in to hear it play music, which is very handy for watching videos on youtube with friends, which also comes preloaded onto the ipod. I also found the internet useful, and you can store your email accounts on it so it takes you directly to them without having to log in everytime. The application store is also a fun addition, and the large number of free games give will provide you with hours of entertainment without having to pay.

Overall, if it wasnt for the reliability issues I would say go out and buy one straight away, but you might be better off waiting for the 3rd generation ones to appear and the problems ironed out.
