Advantages: Fast, compact and hours of fun!

Disadvantages: None in my eyes

I received the iPod touch 16GB for Christmas and it hasn't left my side since. I'd been after an iPod touch for months so I was ecstatic to receive one as a gift, it lived up to all my expectations and more!.

The actual device is very easy to use, you simply tap and scroll using the nifty little touch screen and although typing words is a bit difficult at first with the on screen keyboard, you soon get use to it (it only took me a day of playing around with it to become familiar with it.

The built in itunes library is fantastic, allowing you to download applications instantly to your device. I had a great time picking out all the free applications and playing with them. The games are great and keep you occupied for a while (great for long journeys!).

I flew out to Ireland on boxing day so having my iPod touch was a lifesaver as it meant I could watch films on the plane (I downloaded a couple of TV shows and films earlier in the morning). I was in Ireland for 4 days and listened to / watched films on my iPod most of the days I was there and it managed to keep its charge right through till the day I flew back (and that wasn't a problem as I'd brought my charger cable with me and simply plugged it into the computer terminals at the airport).

My favourite things about my iPod touch is the large screen, the ability to zoom in on things using the 'pinch' method (simply pinching the screen using your thumb and index finger), and the accelerometer (which means you can turn the screen any way and it'll flip to either horizontal or vertical mode).

I'm also impressed with the built in wifi, meaning you can connect to the internet for free where the internet is available. This has been a lifesaver on my travels on trains and in airports - I'm able to browse the internet at my leisure and it's completely free (unlike if I were to browse the internet on my mobile phone - which I have done in the past and been faced with extortionate phone bills!).

All in all, I recommend the iPod Touch, it's a nifty little gadget and you'll soon find yourself unable to leave the house without it!.

Summary: My favourite gadget
