I finally got round to picking one of these up today and don't know how I survived without one now.

The iPod Touch has numerous uses thanks to the touch screen and many appications you can download. It can be a map, a games console, an internet browser, a media player and much more. All these things are veyr easy to use because of the technology behind the touch. It only has two buttons with the rest being the touch sensitive screen which you control everything with. It is also motion sensitive so you can tilt the iPod to flip photos or play games.

It's also a very nice size and thinner than the iPhone, slipping nicely in your pocket with no trouble. However, iPods are notorious for being scratch-magnets so a case is going to make it a little more bulky. There are many accessories you can buy to help prevent damage, such as silicon caeses and screen protectors, as well as accessories to help use the Touch such as docks, speakers and holders.

32GB is the largest amount of memory available for the Touch and it is more than enough for me. I used to have an 80GB Classic but realised that it was way too much space fo my requirements. You can hold thousands and thousands of songs and roughly 30 full length movies.

I think the biggest improvement aside from the touch/motion capabilites is the larger, widescreen ratio screen. It makes it miles better for watching movies and shows and it's much nicer not seeing a movie in 4:3.

I would recommend the iPod Touch if you want something more than just a media player. It is like having hundreds of things in one small pocket size device that you can carry around. However, if you have a massive music library then the Touch may not cut it because of the smalle memory compared to other versions which are cheaper.
