Apple iPod touch 32 GB
Advantages: touchscreen, nice display
Disadvantages: scratches easily
The iPod touch is really nice, it weighs just 118g and so it isn't too heavy at all but really quite light. This iPod is a lot thinner than previous iPod's and its dimensions are 6.2 x 11 x 0.8 cm. The colour being black has a glass like front which is very nice and then on the back like they always do it has the metal back with information on this. It does look really nice and is very comfortable to hold. Being all touch screen is really good as it works easily for me with having a touch screen phone.
IPOD TOUCH 32GB
To begin with, the iPod touch really does remind me just of an Iphone except that it doesn't have the calling functions as it pretty much has all of the same features otherwise. The first thing I noticed different about this iPod to other models is that when you used to have earphones plugged in you could hear sound but when you removed them it automatically paused. With this model, you unplug the earphones and the sound continues but it just goes into loud speaker mode so that it still plays the music.
I use my own ear phones on this and find that the sound quality is good on this. I can hear really well and if you need to adjust the volume then it is really easy to do so. You can also put this onto a dock if you want this to play music out loud rather than just in your ears. To actually navigate on this iPod is also easy, there are menus so you just flick through by artist, album etc and I never have any problems with it sticking, it does move really fast and it makes a click noise when scrolling but this can be turned off.
To upload new music to the iPod is also just like it always has been, you need to use your USB cable to plug it into the laptop you are using and then it will sync with iTunes to get your latest tracks on and then it will also update with any Apple updates. You get the USB cable with your iPod and you also get earphones so it is up to you if you want to use these ear phones or just use your own. The screen has great picture, not problem with it freezing, and the colour is vibrant and very clear.
The screen being made of glass, is very delicate and so you just have to be careful if you are carrying it around as it will scratch easily. I would recommend that if you are using this then just be careful with it and get a case for it as you don't want the back and front being scratched or it ruins the appearance of it. I find that 32GB is quite a good amount of room and it does me fine but I'm not a fan of uploading full albums so it works for me. You can get the 64GB model if you feel that 32GB is going to be too small for you.
Not really criticisms but problems that I've found with this model the main one being the battery. I have been so used to iPod's having really good battery life even for as long as a 10 hour plane journey but with this model I am lucky if the battery lasts me 4 hours before it starts to faulter and need charging again. It takes only 1 and a half hours to charge which is faster than what it used to be but I'd rather it took longer to charge and that it lasted a lot longer as when on the go, I can't really charge it.
Also, I hate that you have to buy your charge always, I remember when I bought the earlier model of iPod and got it included but now this is an extra expense with the iPod. There is a voice control function on this so basically if you were listening to music and wanted to hear 'Coldplay' you would say the name and it automatically jumps to their music. This is an ok feature but it is more of a novelty feature as it sounds good at the time but really how many times will you do this when you could scroll silently especially on a train!
Lastly, there are quite a number of different features that you get with the iPod touch, the first being Face Time. Now, if you are an Ipad user you will have this feature already but basically it is like Apple's version of Skype. I find though that I don't know many people with this app so I rarely use it as I cannot connect with anyone else. However, this is actually a good feature to have if you do know other Apple users with this app but I'm sure you'd need to be connected on wi-fi to use this.
You can buy apps from the Apple store and buy as many as you want for you iPod touch but I can't say I've really purchased that many since having this. There is a Game Centre on the iPod also, I didn't think much of the games and wasn't really impressed but maybe if you want to pay for more games then it might be better but I prefer listening to music on this. Lastly, you can take photos and videos on here as well. The camera is quite good but I haven't used this for videos.
I am very pleased with my iPod touch and feel it has a lot to offer and does look very advanced. However, with all of the apps and all of the extras trying to make it look like an iPhone, it doesn't interest me. I know they are trying to offer the consumer more but really I just want to use this for listening to music and also maybe watching music videos but other features just seem a bit pointless. It is a really good mp3 player and I would recommend it to all fans of Apple products as you won't be disappointed.
If you are interested in buying this then you can purchased this from Amazon for £206.45 from Amazon which is a really good price. The Apple UK Store are selling this for £249 so Amazon are giving a really good saving.
