Advantages: Features, software, camera etc
Disadvantages: Battery, price!
Due to the fact that I have the most amazing mum in the world, I was given this as my Christmas present and I think it's fair to say that I was not disappointed! On first impressions, the iPod touch looks a lot like the new iPhone, and as someone who couldn't afford one it just added to the experience that much more. The most amazing thing about it has to be the app store, there is simply everything you could possible want app wise, in different categories to help navigate around the store. From lifestyle to books there really is everything. When I set it up, you find that it carries a similar software to the iPhone, running on apple ios5 which makes the speed fast and the phone running smoothly. The features built in to the phone include maps, music, videos, pictures, camera ( front and back with face time) and many more. The camera is awesome, really clear with an easy switch to video camera. I will be honest, the battery life isn't very good, probably lasting only six or seven hours when you are using it constantly, and with all the apps you will be. It is annoying also that the speaker doesn't go very loud, I tried using the alarm on it for the first time this morning and or didn't wake me up, so no college today! However, despite this the sound quality through the headphones is good and clear as the iPod comes with the standard iPod headphones. But if you don't want those, the jack is 3.5mm which fits all independent brand headphones, sO you can feel free to change the colours. The one thing that I found really useful about the iPod is the iBooks application, which allows you to download both free and paid books fro. The app store direct to your own virtual book shelf. The free books aren't all tha good, but the paid ones are half the price of the paperback version and it's the experience that counts :) plus, the apple safari link is always useful, and as an added bonus you can't get any viruses which is great for downloading music. However, the price o do feel is way to high, a hundred pounds maybe but 150 is a lot. However if you want it badly then I'm sure you can form it out! :)
Summary: A truly amazing product from apple. It really won't disappoint
