Advantages: Many good features, Easy to use, Good quality, Widescreen movies

Disadvantages: If you have no protection, the back gets ruined quickly

The iPod touch is a fabulous gadget that I would highly recommend. It has all these features, which I make use of everyday. I normally would think twice about getting something like this, but I am really pleased with my purchase as it is very useful, fun and entertaining!

The iPod touch is a similar size to the iPod video but a bit longer. The dimensions are 6.2 cm x 0.8 cm x 11 cm and it is thinner than the iPhone, which is very similar. It comes with superb earphones that are very comfortable and of good quality. It also comes with a cleaning cloth for the screen and instructions with a dock and charging cable.

The iPod can play music, movies and gives you access to the internet (as long as there is a WIRELESS connection nearby). This means you can check weather using the weather application, go on Google maps to find directions and also surf the internet using Safari - Apple's web browsing application. You can even visit the increasingly popular site YouTube and search and watch all the videos on the widescreen. The iPod is sensitive to movement, so flipping it on its side will cause the screen to turn to widescreen. You can do this whilst on the internet as it makes some pages easier to read. You have to do this when watching movies or videos from YouTube as they always play in widescreen.

The iPod touch feels lovely to use as you literally flick through the menus and pinch the screen to zoom in and out. You can do this whilst viewing photos to zoom in and out or the same for a webpage. The back of the iPod is like a mirror and can easily get scratched and damaged. However, the front is almost impossible to scratch (you can rub it with keys and it won't scratch) but it does get dirty and finger prints - that's what the cloth is for! If you don't have the cloth with you, I find it easiest to give the screen a rub with the bottom of my shirt (cotton works best).

The iPod Touch also comes with many more applications such as Calculator, which is useful when you're out and about. There is also a clock with world times, an alarm and timer. There is a calendar, where you can input dates and notices. There is a contacts feature where you can add contacts and all their details. There is also a Notes application where you can jot down notes and save them (e.g. if you are taking down someone's number whilst on the phone and don't have paper and a pen, this is the perfect solution). All these applications make the iPod Touch so much more worthy to buy.

For £179.99, I would highly recommend this gadget to anyone. You can listen to loads of songs as well as watch movies and use the internet for anything and everything. One thing I would highly recommend you buy with the iPod is the Belkin iPod Touch Leather Folio, which amazon.co.uk currently sell for £6.38 but the price changes almost daily. This is an excellent case that protects the screen and back very well.

Thanks for reading
