Advantages: SLEEK, STYLISH, PERFECT
Disadvantages: NEEDS A COVER
I am an apple freak, gala, golden delicious, and as for those pink ladies, well I have always been a big fan of Grease. Ooops sorry I digressed, we are not talking about those round, crunchy, juicy, healthy snacks, we are in fact talking about Apple the wonderful gadget people.
I first discovered apple while at college, typing up assignments in the computer room, I always had to book an apple mac computer, up until recently I had an apple imac, both of these were great computers.
Myself and my husband have always been fans of the Apple brand, they are always coming up with new and innovative ideas.
Obviously when the iphone was introduced, my husband wanted one and got one, and it was the bee's knee's, everything about it was great, when he got in from work I would use it for the internet or to play games. Needless to say my husband got a bit fed up with me always taking his iphone and did something about it.
***How the touch came into my life***
For my 32nd birthday last year my husband and my two children gave me an engraved iPod touch 8gb, Apple engrave them for free, I know this as I had the same done for my husbands original iPod (this looks so dated now).
From that moment my iPod touch has been a permanent fixture in my hand, I seem to constantly be on it at every opportunity. Unless you have a lot of work to do or are going to spend a couple of hours on the computer, there is no need to ever switch your main computer on, I use mine to play games, check emails, search the internet, the latter is what I do the most, it just connects to the internet with the aid of wifi, so quick.
***What is available***
The iPod touch is so easy to use, I had a lot of practice from using my husbands iphone, you rarely make a mistake using the touch screen, it is not delicate-don't be afraid, just go ahead and touch.
From what I have read, people do not seem happy with the manual (but what manual is anyone ever happy with), I am lucky that my significant other or insignificant on occasion, is a bit of a gadget freak and set everything up for me, although saying that I am not totally thick, after playing around with it for a while, it is easy to understand, and I have worked things out for myself, you can always google for advice, I find that normally works.
The iPod touch itself has 8gb memory, it can hold 1,750 songs, has a built in speaker, 3d graphics and a 3.5 inch screen plus a lot more, there are so many applications available for the iPod touch, there is the obvious itunes, on mine I have a music, videos and photos library, I think these are all standard, I have an application for notes, for shopping lists, a newsreader-with up to date headlines, weather, eBay at the touch of a button, you tube, capital fm at the touch of a button as well as other commercial stations, I also have the best application which is Sleeps2Xmas, it plays Christmas songs and counts down to the big day (219 to be exact).
There is also an application store where you can either purchase new ones or get some for free, I tend to find the free ones suitable, unless you need something special, you can get free games, these are pretty standard but do serve a purpose.
***The iPod touch - it's a family affair***
My husband hates anyone touching his gadgets, especially children, I on the other hand am not that bothered. My 7 year old daughter uses my iPod touch to listen to music, this made her want one of her own, we compromised on an ipod shuffle, or as we like to call it the my first iPod, and my 2 year old son watches cbeebies on the bbc iplayer on the iPod touch, he gets up extremely early, so it keeps him quiet and he thinks it is the greatest thing ever, Timmy Time at the touch of a button anytime of the day.
***In Summary***
The iPod touch is great, the only thing I would say, and it is only a slight niggle, they are easily scratched and damaged, so I would advise everyone to purchase a good protective cover. Apple should give these with the iPod upon purchase, but they do not. I dropped mine on the carpet and not from a great height and the screen shattered in places, they are only hairline cracks and it doesn't interfere with me using it, but it is annoying.
The Apple Store do offer a replacement for £100, I went in and asked, so when I have the cash to spare I will definitely replace it.
Go ahead and purchase one with a cover, you wont be disappointed , they are sleek and stylish and an all round good egg, or should that be apple.
