Advantages: Great capability and feature

Disadvantages: Does not run some of the updated Apps anymore

I bought the Ipod Touch after being a fan of Apple and their Ipods, and after having used all their other types of Ipods, I decided to give this one a try. I mainly use this as my walking to college and work Ipod, hence the small gb size, and fill it mostly with songs or apps to pass the time as I wait for classes.

It is a pretty sleek design, as it is quite thin, with a shiny back cover. Although the problem with the back cover of these products is that they can get scratched easily and quickly. I have also heard from my friends accounts of their touchscreen breaking, cracking and scratching - though this has never happened to my Ipod. But when it does you can be faced with an expensive repair cost.

Remember, with any iPod you'll need to have iTunes installed, so you are able to add songs, photos and apps! Setting up the iPod itself is not really difficult with iTunes as all you will really have to do is name it and then select your preferences which are all clearly shown to you throughout the process of setup. The thing I love about having my iPod connected to iTunes though is that it clearly shows me what is taking up the most space in my iPod. That way I am able to delete the things that are taking up too much space.

This Ipod is different to many of the previous ones, mostly due to the touchscreen! The touchscreen is a great feature to have on a Ipod, as it allows for effortless gliding to select songs and new apps. It also has the handy feature of locking itself so you do not find your Ipod turning on unwelcomed and wasting the battery life. Navigating around the iPod is really easy, as even my mum who isn't great with technology was able to play around with it and understands how to use it.

The battery life lasts long, as I only really fully charge my iPod once a week. However, if you are someone who will use the apps heavily and for long amounts of time, you may find that your battery life drains more faster than you expected it to. Coming with a USB adaptor to plug into your computer, laptop or Apple charger makes charging your products easily and quickly.

The Appstore is a great addition to my Ipod, as it lets me download many apps that have been useful to my everyday life such as the pedometer app, random games to keep me entertained and language converters. The download speeds are also very quick, although a big downside is you have to have an Apple account to download anything. However, with this version of the iPod Touch, some of the apps may not run on it, so it may be worthwhile purchasing another more modern version if that is the main draw of an iPod for you.

I store about 1000 songs and random apps on my Ipod, and there is still a bit of room left for more. I think if I were to use this Ipod on a more casual basis, I would have bought a bigger Ipod with more room, as you can buy them in 16gb, 32gb and 64gb.

Sound quality is great with this Ipod as it has great capabilities. You also get free earphones if you purchase it usually, and these transfer sound great. Although after a while, the parts around the actual earphone and where they connect to the wire began to fray and they stopped working, so you may have to invest in a new pair of earphones a couple of months after buying them.

Overall, I would say buy an Ipod if you love new modern technology and love music at the same time, its the match made in heaven. It is a great way of adding music to your every day life and occupying the time. I think it is one of the best music players that there is, as it has so many capabilities. However, if you are more interested in playing apps and watching movies on the iPod, I would say its probably better to get one with more memory and a newer model.

Summary: Great for casual use, if going to use daily I would reccomend one with more memory
