Advantages: holds 5000 songs

Disadvantages: £30 extra just for different look - maybe not worth it?

First off, let's discuss the basics - despite appearances, this is the same as any other 30gb ipod - mine currently contains 4453 songs and a handful of music videos, and that's about 27gb, so conservative estimates woud suggest this ipod can hold around 5000 songs - that's a lot of music!

In case you don't know, you have to have a PC to use an Ipod, and you have to download a program called 'itunes'. Itunes is like a virtual hi-fi, where you put all of your music (either load your CDs into it or actually buy music in their online store). On top of that, you can download free podcasts. These are basically radio shows, and they are free on itunes too. So, you plug the Ipod in, it connects to itunes, and puts everything you have on itunes onto your Ipod.

The Ipod then works as a personal stereo, the main difference being it can hold a LOT of music. The quality of the sound is amazing, crisp and faultless.

Now to the U2 aspect. In Bono's autobiography a few years back, he told of how much he loves the Ipod. Seemingly to celebrate this, they have teamed up with Apple and made the U2 special edition. You can see from the photo what it looks like - black with a red dial, and the band's autographs are lasered onto the back. It's a snazzy look, that will make you stand out in the crowd.

What else? The ipod can play videos and movies, has a clock and a few basic games, a currency convertor and an international clock.

The u2 Ipod is around £30 more than the normal Ipod, and so what you're paying for is the black colour, red dial and autographs. It's only worth it if you're a big fan of U2, or just want to be a bit different.

Summary: An Ipod that goes the extra mile and sets you apart from the rest
