Advantages: slim, compact, easy to use, gorgeous to touch, brilliant video display.

Disadvantages: delicate, scratches easy, short battery life.

PROS: I got my ipod about a month ago and as a result, cast aside all the other players I had. So easy to use with Itunes and sync all your library. The sound is crisp and you can't stop touching it during travel. The jog wheel is delicate and takes a while to get used to, but you can learn the functions in a few mintues just by playing with it. Audio transfer is stunningly fast and the video (full films) transfers are not bad either. The video software needed can be a bit overpriced but if you do your research as much as I did (2&1/2 hrs)I finally got to convert full dvds or any other video media to my ipod for free. It's really worth it. It's the ultimate showing off tool on the train or anyother public transport. (lots of heads peering over your shoulders, and even nice women asking how you did that. but take caution, it can create unwanted attention too). Average use of audio play allows battery life for a couple of days.

CONS: Never drop your ipod cos it's far too delicate, and the screen can easily crack, so buy a cover as soon as you get it. Try not to rub the screen with your hands, as even dust between your hands and screen can scratch it, so use soft cloth. The battery is a major problem with video. it can just about last a whole film, so you need to remember to charge it constantly if visual entertainment is your thing.

although all in all a wonderful piece of equipment.

Summary: Truly stunning sound, Sooo easy to use, Excellent capabilities but needs lots of TLC
