Advantages: good sound, simple

Disadvantages: easily scratched

I recently decided to get a 30gb Ipod and in my opinion it was a rather good decision. The 30gb version of the ipod is capable of doing quite alot and although other players may have more features and may be a little bit cheaper the ipod is the best mp3 player out there. On top of being an mp3 player this little gadget can play videos, you can also place photos onto it to view and you can load audiobooks and podcasts onto this thing as well. As well as having all these features it also has a clock, games and it is possible to store contact details and plan your days using the calender.

The ipod can get criticized for being a bit of a fashion accessory but although it looks good it is a great music player. The ipod looks good and it is good but apart from this it is the number one mp3 player in the world. The sound quality is excellent and I have been very impressed with this thing in a number of different genres from indie to hip hop music. I have found that whatever you throw at this thing it sounds good, it has nice bass and the sound seems very clear which is very good.

My ipod is very reliable and I have had it for over a year, the battery is still going strong, the music sounds great and it has a good strong build quality. One of the few things that is bad about the ipod is that it does get scratched far to easily which is annoying but I have managed to scratches to a minimum by using a screen protector and a cover to prevent the ipod form getting to many scratches.

The ipod is also very easy to use and it works seamlessy with itunes, it is so easy to use and even a novice would be able to work this device with a computer and there music collection. For the ipod you can upload your CD collection onto your computer and you can also download music off of itunes.

This 5th gen style of ipod is not the latest version however you can pick it up for less than £80 on ebay and there not that much different from the latest models so if I was to choose between a brand new one and one of these I would get a 5th gen because they are very cheap and they still work great. Even though the ipod doesn't feature everything it is still one of the most innovative gadgets and of course it is undeniably cool as well as being extremely simplistic. I would highly recommend anyone who like there music to own an ipod

Summary: top of the range music gadget

Welcome back - long time no reviews! The big negative of the iPod for me is the difficulty in transferring songs from the iPod back to PC (if you're hard drive has crashed for example). Apple make it so difficult whilst all other MP3 players are simple drag & drop both ways.
