The Cowon U5's looks and designs can be absolutely deceiving, as it would lead anyone to believe that it can actually view photos and watch videos, sadly it does exactly the opposite of its cover.
It has a slim and sleek design only being 10 millimetres thick and quite light which makes it ideal for sporting activities, or use when commuting or travelling.

It has a good menu system that is easy to understand and also easy to operate thanks to its responsive buttons that are placed ergonomically, even through the labels could be improved a bit. Overall, this is a rather user friendly device.

It also supports a few major audio file formats such as WMA, MP3, OGG, WAV and Flac files. It has quite a fast file transfer rate, on average it took a mere 22 secs to transfer a few albums of music.

When using the supplied headphones it is relatively good, upon using a additional pair of headphones a better and more shaper sound was achieved.

Even though the player lacks video and photo capabilities, it does have a few extra features in addition to the bog standard functions. It boost a built in radio which can be recorded, along with a voice recorder, timer and clock.

Even though it has satisfactory battery stamina, it is not fantastic. On average it provides 18.5 hours of continuous play of audio files after a 120 minute charge.
