The Nomad II is a real gem. The sleek design and crisp mellow sound with solid bass will blow you away. Within an hour of buying it I was jogging round the park to the sound of Rocky - Eye of the Tiger. You can't get a more inspiritainol piece of music than that! It is great for running etc. as it is lightweight and skip free. The in line headphone remote is a superb feature - you can change the volume and track without having to reach into your pocket. Another great featue is the built in FM radio which is great for when you;ve got board off all the songs on it! In general this product is highly recommended by me and I say - go and get one!
Creative labs are an extremely well known and respected name in the area of computer audio. Their experience has obviously served them well as this is an extremely well put together and supported product. The player is powered by a single AA battery which is enough to give around eight hours of listening. Connection to a PC is via the USB port which enables quick transfer of files. The bundled Creative software is a version of Musicmatch and works well, though I have of recent been using the device with Windows Media Player as I find this easier to use. Files are stored on the player on a single 64Mb Smartmedia card. There is no onboard memory on my version which means that in order to store more songs you will have to buy further memory cards and swap between them. I believe that versions are now available which include onboard memory. The headphones supplied were not to my taste, being the type that go behind the head. Fortunately these can easily be replaced. The sound quality is excellent and can be varied in order to store more music. The FM radio is also a bonus and provides pretty good tuning. The player also has a microphone which means you can record hours of audio yourself and then upload this to your computer. By far the best point of a Creative product is the support. Regular driver updates are available at www.nomadworld.com. These driver updates enhance the performance of the machine. Improvements include the ability to play back WMA files, which seem in some cases to be of higher quality. The Nomad II is a great portable MP3 player, although I would like more expansion capabilities.
The Nomad is sleek and equally as important is ever so light. The newest features on Mp3 players is FM radio. The Nomad had this function and can store up to 32-preset FM stations, thus expanding its excellent use. The Nomad takes over from Minidisc players in the recording department. Up to 4-hrs can be recorded via the inbuilt microphones. The battery (1AA) lasts up to 8 hrs and is therefore not up to Minidisc standards. An estimate of 21 songs can be recorded onto the 64mb card and this allows for up to 60 minutes of playback which is in fact not great but at least the radio is an added bonus. Songs can be transferred from your PC via the very fast USB cable. I have not tested how long it takes for the songs to download onto the player but believe me it does not take very long at all. My only real qualm is the fact that naming is apaling. The player can only name tracks of to 6 characters. This is nowhere near enough bearing in mind there are only 21 tracks on the card. Overall this is a very good player but it still lacks on the amount of music it can hold and other functions such as the naming of tracks. I would recommend this player but it does need improving.
I think this MP3 player is excellent. This MP3 player has enough memory for all your songs and is small, portable and comes with an excellent docking station. It looks very retro and stylish and something you would be proud to wear in your back pocket. Although MP3 players are still quite expensive, I think this MP3 player, at the moment is the pick of the bunch with its 100mb song capacity. The PC software that comes with it lives up to the creative name, it is excellent and has all the features you would need and expect in a player this price. All in all I think this Player is extremely good value and is a worthwhil Asset.Go out and buy one now. If you are always out and about this would appeal to you even more, because as there is no moving parts in a MP3 player the sound will not skip. Perfect sound.
