The Creative Zen 4GB is my second MP3 player from creative. My original creative MP3 player was the Zen Jukebox and is a complete brick of thing but was, it has to be said a very accomplished player. The Creative Zen 4GB was a present from my girl friend for Christmas and what can i say, a great gift and a very welcome upgrade.

The first thing you notice about the creative is its small size, coming in smaller than a credit card and not much over 1cm in thickness. Despite being small it has a great 2.5" screen and well sized buttons which are easy to use. The front casing is a very shiny black plastic which loves finger prints unfortunately much like the PSP slim and light for those familiar with it.

The screen is brilliantly crisp, displaying colours vibrantly. It displays video very well producing a double image which can often happen on these small screens. Although the quality of the screen for video is good its far to small to provide a great viewing experience. The screen is also good for displaying photos on.

The core function is the MP3 player. The creative does this very well with good sound quality through playback. The sound produced is crisp and there's the usual EQ functions for those that like to play around with these settings. The settings are all simply laid out and are easily navigated with the well thought out button layout on the player. The bundled ear phones aren't the best but these aren't really an issue.

The creative also provides the option of expandable memory through an SD card slot. This is especially good as it can accept HCSD cards. This could also be an added bonus for those that are may feel they need more than the provided 4GB.

Overall the creative is a very good MP3 player. Its got a great size and has excellent MP3 play back. There are also plenty of other features added on which can be easily used through good controls and a great screen.
