The brightest little gem on the market (Creative Zen Stone Plus 2 GB)

Advantages: simple interface, cute display, diminutive size, good sound quality

Disadvantages: none worth mentioning

I bought the white version of this player for my girlfriend in October 2007 and when it arrived my first impression was 'wow! that is really really small'. She loved it and everyone lived happily ever after.... only I couldn't help but crave for a little Zen Stone Plus of my own. I am now awaiting the black 4GB version since at £39.99 from amazon it is better value (£5 more than the 2GB version).
My mother has the Zen Stone (1GB and no screen), I would have to say that it is worth paying the extra few pounds to buy the Zen Stone Plus because the display allows you to utilise these extra features:

1. Track name and elapsed/remaining time
2. Battery indicator
3. Graphic equalizer
4. Voice recorder
5. FM radio with presets
6. Track browser
7. Customisable Shortcut button for one-touch access to key features
8. Stopwatch

The Zen Stone Plus is about 50% bigger than the latest ipod shuffle, so that is still agonisingly tiny, mine fits in the coin pocket of my jeans with room to spare. Battery life is healthy (at least 10 hours of non-stop playing I find). The sound is up to Creative's usual high standards, good warm bass notes for such a tiny package.
It is my opinion that for any casual music listener this is probably the best value player on the market today. Video fans need not apply.

Summary: A genuine Ipod Shuffle buster! Money well spent, and a great gift too.
