I never had a great respect for Creative's audio quality, in a sense they are known to have at best 'above average' and normally 'average' audio quality. None of their audio products has ever reached, forget about over running, the standard set out by the best up there. I got my mum one of these as she didn't have an MP3 player and likes to feel she's in the loop with technology. While the 2GB memory would be nowhere near enough for young 'uns, for my mum who can barely work a PC it's ideal. I didn't bother with the software and just click + dragged songs as if it were an external hard drive. The sound quality is good, I used my own good headphones with it - the ones it come with (as I've found with other Creative players) aren't great, but as above - for the new/basic user they're more than adequate.
