Advantages: Long battery, Easy to use, more than enough storage space.

Disadvantages: Bulky (somewhat heavy), very confusing software, not a reliable player.

I have bought three hard disk MP3 players from Creative over the past four years and the Zen Touch has impressed me the most of all.

Although somewhat heavy (not too ideal for your nighly run) it has a firm, solid build; suggesting it can take a knock or two. However, the surface on the back and sides is somewhat delicate and can be scratched rather too easily!

The stylish, white front of the player defines other comanies designs prowdly with it's vertical touch pad and shiny white surface. The touchpad itself is very useful and has a tap mode for quick slection. The speeds of the touchpad can also be altered to suite the user.

Plenty of storage space for your music (20gig) doesn't outweigh the problems which I encountered with the software.
There are more than one pieces of software and I feel this becomes confusing. All I wanted to do was transfer from P.C to player. There are too many features for the novice user to understand.

Battery life is 100% spot on with the Creative specification being correct. I achieved very long playback times and the battery was not a problem at all. Even the mains charger was small and light for ease of use.


The final point I would like to make about this player is how unreliable I found it. Three months after the purchase it froze up completely and hasn't turned on since.

The player crashed and I was left to send it back to creative where I recieved a new one. The support in this process was excellent, however, this is the third Creative MP3 player which has turned on me far too quickly.


To summarise, the Zen Touch is an excellent MP3 player with huge storage, great looks, and a few handy features.

However, I feel it has been made a 'touch too good' for its own god, causing it to fail at crucial moments.

All in all, if you want a long lasting, reliable MP3 player than go somewhere else.

Summary: Although it's great, it isn't worth the money, time or risk.
