Advantages: Sound, video, FM radio, Picture quality, works with Windows Media player

Disadvantages: Not as many after market gizmos to add on, fewer docking stations available

Ok so I did my research, I went to all the bricks stores and demod ipods, Sansas, Archos, Sony. Using my own Headphones ( two types, one open back ,one closed back) I listened for how the music was presented as for me musicality is the only reason that counts.

The Zen has the ipod on quality of sound.

The Zen has a 30 station pre set FM radio.

The Zen will record in mp3 stereo direct from the fm radio.

The Zen has a screen which is like looking at HD, the ipod is like looking at a 50hz cathode tube.

The Zen has a built in mic to record spoken voice or for use at concerts (mono only alas)

The Zen works straight out of the box and syncs really well with Windows Media player
