Intro..... For a few years now I have used my mobile phone as both a music player and a phone, but recently my trusty phone has lost most of its battery life and listening to music severely depletes the battery. So, taking this into account I decided to buy a new MP3 player. I was looking around at cheap music players when I stumbled across the new iPod shuffle. I saw it on the apple store website and it looked alright. 4GB of storage, very small and light, perfect for me. I bought it and a few days later it arrived in the post. Size When it said on the internet that it was the smallest MP3 player in the world, I realised it would be ... Read the complete review

Smaller, smaller, smaller. Apple are seemingly addicted to making everything on earth as small as physically possible. Now this iPod is half the size of its (small) predecessor, it is only slightly larger than the included earphones. This makes it the size of a paper clip. So it's small, but is it mighty? The Good: I've mentioned its outstanding size- this is both its advantage and its disadvantage. Many people will appreciate the ease of having a tiny player, while others may find annoyingly fiddly. I'm sure this will be a personal preference for you as the buyer. The colour choice is poor; just silver or black, in true Apple, style however, ... Read the complete review

An iPod with no physical controls? Madness. Certainly what I first thought when I saw the latest incarnation of the Shuffle. It certainly put me off for a long while. The click wheel on the previous generation was so integral to my use of it I couldn't image using anything else. In an impulsive moment, I bought one. I haven't regretted it at all. It's control system (inline remote on the ear phones) is very clever. One click to Play or Pause, two clicks to skip forwards, three clicks to skip back, click and hold to have it talk to you. Yes. It talks to you. Well, says what it is playing currently. If you have 'Voice Over' ... Read the complete review

It's an iPod so, as you would expect, it's a piece of cake to manage via itunes and, as always it sounds great. But there are 2 main problems I find with it. Firstly, the buds that come with iPods are notoriously not the best. Most people in the know change them pretty quickly for a better quality pair from an alternative manufacturer. Except this time you cant! Apple have decided to remove the controls from the ipod itself and instead position them halfway up the headphone cable. In a way this is good because you can keep your player in your bag or pocket safe from the elements and still navigate your tracks but it also means that, at the moment, you are ... Another new ipod shuffle, however, this is the best they have made so far! As an owner of an ipod nano, I bought an ipod shuffle purely for use at the gym, and it has proven itself to be indispensible. There are no controls on this clip sized ipod, just and off, shuffle and play then repeat position for a small slider and the top. The ipod is either plain, brushed, silver or black and has a clip on itsi rearside to clip it to your clothing. This ipod comes with new headphones, with the right earpiece having three buttons on its' wire. The top and the bottom increase and decrease the volume respectively, and the middle button is multi function. ... Read the complete review
