Advantages: Small, light and easy to use
Disadvantages: Can't choose a specific album or track
Another new ipod shuffle, however, this is the best they have made so far!
As an owner of an ipod nano, I bought an ipod shuffle purely for use at the gym, and it has proven itself to be indispensible. There are no controls on this clip sized ipod, just and off, shuffle and play then repeat position for a small slider and the top. The ipod is either plain, brushed, silver or black and has a clip on itsi rearside to clip it to your clothing.
This ipod comes with new headphones, with the right earpiece having three buttons on its' wire. The top and the bottom increase and decrease the volume respectively, and the middle button is multi function. Click once to play, twice to skip a track and three times to go back a track.
However, the really clever part of the ipod shuffle is that if you hold the centre button down it will tell you the name of the artist and track you are listening to, keep it held down and it will announce the names of the playlists, allowing you to click on the one you want to listen to!
I find this a brilliant piece of kit for in the gym, it's very lightweight so that you don't even feel you are wearing it, and is very simple to use, even when running full-out on the treadmill!
Summary: Great for in the gym!

- 30/05/09 I quite like the new look ones but I still wouldn't buy one - I like my whole library with me. |
